Meet Project Executives: Alan Laurlund, Steve Winslow, John Boneso, and Ron Paradies

Vice Presidents Alan Laurlund, Steve Winslow and John Boneso, and Project Executive Ron Paradies embody the XL commitment to complete customer service. As project executives they manage XL's preconstruction and construction projects, attentively managing each project from beginning to end.

A LEED Accredited Professional, Alan has 22 years of industry experience, including 11 years at XL. He has been involved in many noteworthy biopharmaceutical and healthcare projects with XL, including: an Emergency Department remodel for ValleyCare Health System; numerous acute care projects for Kaiser Permanente; Sugen Inc., a project that won LEED-CI Gold Certification; Genitope Corporation’s new headquarters, R&D, and manufacturing facility; and several cGMP and laboratory projects for Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, Inc. Alan obtained a B.S. degree in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California and serves on the Cal Poly School of Architecture Industry Advisory Council.

With more than two decades of estimating, preconstruction, and construction experience, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to XL's clients. Steve has been with XL for 14 years and has been directly involved in key projects such as Washington Hospital Healthcare System’s Imaging Center, John Muir Health's Core Lab, and The Harker School’s LEED Gold Certified Science and Technology Center. While continuing to manage projects, Steve is the Vice President in charge of XL's preconstruction services. Steve obtained a B.S. degree in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Architects, Santa Clara Valley Chapter.

As a project executive with over 25 years of construction experience John Boneso ideally complements the executive team at XL. John’s leadership in pivotal biopharmaceutical projects in the bay area include the construction of Roche Molecular Diagnostics’ Pleasanton campus, Bayer Diagnostics’ Oakland campus infrastructure upgrade, and PDL BioPharma’s corporate headquarters in Redwood City. His data center background includes work for Global Switch in Paris and the Director of Engineering and Construction for Telegis Networks in Los Gatos. John earned a B.S. degree in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California and he is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE).

With more than 30 years in construction, Ron brings seasoned construction experience to the XL team. An expert in the advanced technology industry, Ron has built over 400,000 s.f. of space for the solar industry and completed notable projects for the microelectronics industry including class 10 through class 10,000 cleanrooms for Seagate, class 10,000 fab space for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, and multiple projects for Apple. Ron obtained a B.A. degree from Hartwick College, in Oneonta, New York and is an active member in CoreNet Global.
