Aug 2009 - Dan Geiger from the USGBC presents The Harker School with a LEED Gold plaque for Nichols Hall, a new science and technology center. Originally expected to earn Silver level of certification, Harker students created educational material that pushed the building to Gold status!
Feb 2009 - BD Biosciences is awarded LEED Silver! XL's recently completed office and laboratory training facility for BD Bioscience, in San Jose, has been awarded LEED SIlver for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI).

Aug 2008 – The Harker Schools new Science and Technology Center and Sports Complex in San Jose is ready for school to start! XL’s most recently completed project for the Harker Schools is a new green two-story, 50,000 s.f. concrete tilt-up and glass classroom building including a 200-seat auditorium. Also a part of this project is an 8,000 s.f. competitive swimming pool, and synthetic turf athletic field. Built using the design-build process, the Science and Technology building has been submitted for LEED certification. Click here for more info.

Jul 2008 – XL completes BD Biosciences new San Jose training facility. An 80,000 s.f. tenant improvement project including a complete seismic upgrade and a laboratory training facility. This project has been submitted for LEED-CI. Click here for more info.
Apr 2008 – XL sponsors “Go Green with KQED”.
Mar 2008 – XL hosts the new USGBC Silicon Valley Branch Chapter Meeting.
Feb 2008 - XL Construction was awarded LEED-CI silver certification for the renovation of its corporate headquarters in Milpitas, California. The U.S. Green Building Council granted the certification of the 38,000 s.f. headquarters and shop building. LEED features of the project include water efficient plumbing fixtures, the use of rapidly-renewable and low VOC-emitting materials and energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems.
