Tips on Being Green

Eliminate paper & plastic products by using real dishes. If real dishes are not available, use biodegradable, corn-based utensils, plates & cups.

Avoid bottles. Drink water from a filtered water system or tap as opposed to bottled water.

Set up separate garbage & recycling receptacles so sorting will not be an issue.

Make double-sided photocopies whenever possible.

Turn off computers and power sources after each day.

Replace regular light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs.

Replace memos or notes with emails.

Use recycled paper. Use 100% post-consumer recycled paper for your printer and reduce your carbon emissions by 5 lbs. per ream. Recycle used office paper to use as scratch paper.

Turn off lights when not in use.

Use programmable thermostats or turn off A/C and/or heater whenever possible.
