Being Green while Shopping

Think twice before you buy. All things we purchase require energy to produce and transport, thus contributing to global warming. Consider the impacts of your purchases and buy used items or, if practical, borrow them.

Buy smart. For things you must buy, avoid products with excessive packaging. Buy things in bulk, if possible. Use your own canvas bas for shopping. Energy goes into creating and disposing of packaging and shopping bags. By avoiding packaging and disposable bags, you can significantly reduce the amount of CO2 emissions you contribute per year.

Buy local. Minimize CO2 associated with long-distance transportation by supporting goods that are grown or produced locally.
