XL Voted by Employees One of the “Best Places to Work in the Bay Area”
XL Construction was recently ranked seventh on the “Best Places to Work in the Bay Area” list, amongst businesses with 101-500 employees. This is XL Construction’s second appearance on the list, moving up from the 16th slot it received in 2007.
“We know we have great employees,” says XL Construction Director of Human Resources Jerry Harmon, “but it’s nice to know that our people feel the same way about our company. Our seventh place spot tells me that our employees really do enjoy coming to work everyday.”
Harmon goes on to discuss the company’s purpose and how it contributes to the corporate culture at XL Construction. “Our employees helped us write our company purpose. The idea that “we build to improve lives” stems from our employees telling us how proud they are of the work we do and how that work contributes to the quality of life for others.”
Always on the look out for talented professionals, XL says they recruit people who want to be part of technical construction projects, which is the type of work the company focuses on. “We are looking for fun, energetic people who like to work hard but have a good time doing it,” says Harmon. “We are just a group of people who really enjoy working together and it shows.”
