XL Hosts Integrated Project Delivery Workshop. XL Construction hosted a workshop in January on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), presented by Howard W. Ashcraft Jr. and Lisa Dal Gallo, leading attorneys specializing in IPD projects. The workshop included discussion on key topics including: why IPD works; how IPD projects are structured; and what IPD offers to owners, contractors, and designers.
XL Hosts USGBC Tour of Corporate Office. On Wednesday, October 21st, XL Construction hosted the U.S. Green Building Council's "Emerging Green Builders" site tour.
Nichols Hall Awarded LEED-NC Gold! XL's most recently completed project for The Harker School is a newgreen two-story, 50,000 s.f. concrete tilt-up and glass science and technology classroombuilding including a 200-seat auditorium. Built using the design-build process, NicholsHall received LEED-NC Gold. Grean features of the project include: a living roof, solar panels, bioswales, and a direct/indirect evaporative cooling system. (Project Profile)
BD Biosciences is awarded LEED Silver! XL's recently completed office and laboratory training facility for BD Bioscience in San Jose, has been awarded LEED SIlver for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI). The Construction Employers' Association of Northern California has awarded XL Construction The President's Safety Award and an Excellence in Safety Award. click here.

XL Construction's Corporate Headquarters receives AIA Design Award! XL Construction's corporate headquarters was given an Award of Excellence in the Adaptive Reuse/Renovation Design category at the 2008 AIA Santa Clara Valley Design Awards Ceremony on October 16 at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga. Silver LEED-CI is Awarded to XL Construction for Our New Sustainable Headquarters! Our new corporate headquarters is awarded Silver LEED-CI by the USGBC. The 38,000 s.f., project was a MEP design-build tenant improvement project with seismic upgrades. There are high-end finishes throughout, two kitchens, a large training room and an exercise room. Sustainable elements of the building include: brownfield redevelopment, water savings and recycled water use, a 96 percent diversion of construction waste from landfills, the use of rapidly renewable materials, enhanced commissioning of the MEP systems, and the purchase of green power.
