XL News

The Harker School's new Science and Technology Center and SportsComplex in San Jose is ready for school to start! XL's most recentlycompleted project for the Harker Schools is a new green two-story, 50,000 s.f. concrete tilt-up and glass classroom building including a 200-seat auditorium. Also a part of this project is an 8,000 s.f. competitive swimming pool, and synthetic turf athletic field. Built using the design-build process, the Science and Technology building has been submitted for LEED certification. Silver LEED-CI is Awarded to XL Construction for Our New Sustainable Headquarters! Our new corporate headquarters is awarded Silver LEED-CI by the USGBC. The 38,000 s.f., project was a MEP design-build tenant improvement project with seismic upgrades. There are high-end finishes throughout, two kitchens, a large training room and an exercise room. Sustainable elements of the building include: brownfield redevelopment, water savings and recycled water use, a 96 percent diversion of construction waste from landfills, the use of rapidly renewable materials, enhanced commissioning of the MEP systems, and the purchase of green power.
