    XL Construction has the the power – solar power, that is! With the help of Cinnamon Energy Systems, XL is proudly joining California’s commitment to go solar and have installed a whopping 680+ solar panels on the roof of its Milpitas headquarters. The Milpitas office will now produce 300,000 kilowatts of renewable energy annually.

    XL Construction was honored by the Construction Employers’ Association (CEA) for excellence in safety. XL received the 2019 President’s Safety Award along with 13 other companies. The President’s Safety Award recognizes contractors who meet four of the six criteria set CEA.

    Criteria:

    1. Participation in Cal/OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program-Construction; or
    2. Demonstration of a comprehensive safety training program.
    3. To qualify for the Excellence in Safety awards, a company must have had total incident and lost workday rates at least 25% below the industry average, an X-Mod at or below 1.0 and demonstration of an active training program.
    4. A total injury and illness rate at least 50% below the industry average;
    5. A lost workday rate at least 50% below the industry average;
    6. An X-Mod no higher than .70.

    XL was honored to receive the award and will continue to follow their ‘Think Safe. Work Safe. Home Safe’ motto.

    After two months of work, six tiny homes located on the First Presbyterian Church of Hayward campus are now complete and ready for residents to move in! XL has been assisting HomeAid with the construction and placement of six tiny homes on the church campus. These new homes will serve as transitional housing as new residents work to gain ​a more permanent housing situation.

    XL Construction is proud to be a Community Member of the Las Positas College Foundation (LPCF) and provide a scholarship to it’s students. The LPCF was created in 2003 and has a mission to promote Las Positas College to the Tri-Valley community; to encourage residents to invest in the future of their great asset, Las Positas College; and to provide funds for scholarships and student programs for which there is no other funding source.
