On March 25, XL Construction Healthcare Project Executive Jason Fox, WRNS Founding Partner John Ruffo, and Chief Administrative Services Officer Ken King  will present at the PDC Summit in San Antonio, Texas. They three speakers will be covering “Model Behavior: Building a Better Behavioral Health Experience.” The session will cover the following below.

Behavioral health disorders are plaguing the country at an alarming rate. El Camino Hospital sought to address this growing need in their community with the construction of a new state-of-the-art 58,000 square foot, 36-bed Behavioral Health Services Center in Mountain View, CA. The goal was to provide a place people would want to visit, stay and make the effort to make a change. In this session, participants will hear from the owner, designer and contractor about how they were able to effectively execute this vision by focusing on the patient experience. Learn about research findings that led to game-changing design elements for the building. Also, hear how the team overcame challenges such as complicated regulatory requirements and working on an occupied campus. Discover how El Camino’s facility can serve as a model for effectively treating the behavioral health epidemic nationwide.

On October 10th, Healthcare Project Executive Jason Fox and Lean Guru Andreas Phelps presented with Todd Henderson of Boulder Associates at the Kaiser Permanente 2019 Preferred Provider Symposium. Our presentation tackled the “Encouraging a Lean Culture” theme from both a design and construction perspectives. The presenters introduced Agile and Lean approaches, provided tools and how to use them, and shared examples and proofs of where this approach has worked in the past.

    Objectives:

    1. Design is a different animal from construction, but the two are joined at the hip.
    2. Agile offers tools that are better for design and integration with builders.
    3. Understand how to:
-Select the right mix of approaches
-Utilize them in the best way
-Optimize the potential of Target Value Delivery

For more information on Lean and Agile Principles and how they can help achieve Target Value Delivery, please contact Jason Fox.
