Medical

XL Constructions currently offers four medical plan options: The Anthem Blue Cross HDHP Plan with Health Savings Account, Anthem Blue Cross HMO, Anthem Blue Cross PPO and Kaiser Permanente HMO (CA Employees Only). All of the available options give you access to high quality, comprehensive care. They differ largely in the way the cost of care is structured and in the strategies you can use to control your expenses.

  • PPO PLANS: These plans let you choose care inside or outside of the network you selected, but you will incur a higher out-of-pocket cost of services (Available to all employees).
  • HMO Plans: These plans offer a comprehensive, convenient approach, but require that you seek care within the HMO network you selected (Available to California employees).
  • HDHP HSA Plans: These plans are high deductible insurance plans that help protect against large claims as well as to cover preventative care at 100% (deductible is waived for preventive services). If you enroll in this plan you are eligible to open a Health Savings Account (HSA) which can be used to help pay for qualified medical expense. You can contribute to your HSA anytime during the year up to the IRS maximums. XL generously funds your account throughout the year and also offers a match program.
Vision

XL Constructions vision plan offered by Anthem gives you the freedom to see any provider. Keep in mind, however, that you can save significant amounts if you choose a network provider. Discounts may apply for LASIK vision correction surgery, eyewear purchase, non-prescription sunglasses and the remaining balance beyond plan coverage at network providers.

Dental

XL’s Dental Plan, offered through MetLife, offers a competitive PPO dental plan to help you maintain your oral health. Coverage includes preventive procedures, basic procedures (e.g., fillings, extractions, root canals, oral surgery), and major procedures (e.g., bridgework, crowns, inlays, dentures, and children’s orthodontia).

401K

The first day of the month following your hire date, you can enter the 401(K) Plan, and money that would otherwise be paid to you as taxable income may be directed by you into your 401K) plan as a salary deferral contribution. Earnings on these contributions will accumulate on a tax-deferred basis. XL matches 50% per dollar up to 6%, helping grow your account. XL employees can also set money aside in a post-tax Roth.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

The LTD plan is designed to provide you with income in the event you become totally disabled and remain disabled for more than 90 days.

 Life Benefit Plan

In the event of your death, your beneficiary will receive one times your annual salary up to a maximum of $200,000.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment

If your death is the result of an accident, your beneficiary will receive an additional benefit amount equal to your life insurance.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Section 125 Plans

FSAs use employee salary reduction for pre-tax reimbursement of qualified incurred expenses, including a Medical Reimbursement Account; and a Dependent Care Reimbursement Account Plan.

Personal Time Off (PTO)

XL Construction has established a Paid Time Off (PTO) policy to allow you the greatest possible flexibility in your life away from work. Those employees eligible for paid PTO begin to accrue after your date of hire. Accrual for the first five years of employment is 16 days per year and increases to 21 days per year for years six through ten, and 26 days per year for ten years, and 31 days per year for more than fifteen years with the company. In addition to normal accrual at the completion of every 7th year employees receive a bonus week of PTO.

Paid Holidays

Depending on your eligibility, you can receive ten paid holidays for the holidays that XL recognizes, which currently include New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Bonus Plan

All employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement are eligible for the XL bonus plan. Based upon both company and individual performance, bonuses are distributed to employees at the end of the fiscal year. The financial performance of the company is communicated to all XL employees in the annual All Hands meeting. XL has paid bonuses in every year of its existence.

XLebrate Summer

In addition to paid vacation, the XLebrate Summer program allows eligible employees who choose to participate to take an additional 5 days off during the summer.

Continuing Education

XL will provide financial support to employees who are looking to further their education, enhance their skills or expand their knowledge. Reimbursement for seminars and courses, on a case-by-case basis, will be granted after considering the personal growth and company benefits.
