Sr Electrical Estimator

Integrated Solutions Milpitas, California

Responsibilities:

  • Lead role for Electrical Estimating Team
  • Provide leadership/mentoring to junior level estimators on the XL Team
  • XL Team SME for (4) Technical Scopes: Electrical, Fire Life Safety/Fire Alarm, Low Voltage, Site Electrical
  • Review Design Documents (drawings and specifications) during concept, schematic, design development, and construction stages
  • Proficient at conceptual and detailed level estimating
  • Concept – Early stages of design (e.g. Test Fits, Floor Plans, Basis of Design). Initial prediction of project cost.
  • Ability to size equipment and electrical infrastructure

Superintendent

Healthcare San Francisco, California

A Project Superintendent is responsible for providing management and oversight of all aspects of field operations on a project and works closely with the Project Manager to ensure positive, overall project results. They bring deep knowledge of materials, as well as and how to build and manage all facets of work in the field; including plans, specifications, estimates, schedules, critical path elements and sequencing/phasing of the project. They take a lead role in promoting XL’s safety culture and help to ensure that everyone on the project plans for, understands, and practices the highest level of safety performance. To be successful, they must be well organized, have excellent planning and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate their ability to motivate others toward accomplishing the work at hand. 

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Prepare and update Precon and Construction Master Schedules.
  • Lead the Constructability Review process during each phase of the design process.
  • Develop site logistic plans and ensure the site is always kept in a clean, organized and secure manner.
  • Generate, implement and manage Job Site Specific Safety, Environmental and Quality Programs.
  • Conduct Pre-Task meetings with all critical trades prior to commencing field work.
  • Ensure all necessary permits, licenses, inspections etc. are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the accuracy of basic surveying, layout and field measurements – verify the accuracy of lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions and distances.
  • Work closely with the project team and trade partners to ensure work plans, materials, tools, processes, and activities are pre-planned and executed correctly & in accordance with XL standards.
  • Actively participate in and chair the OAC meetings.
  • Constantly measures the performance of subcontractors and implement strategies to ensure quality, compliance and timeliness. Take responsibility for proactively eliminating claims.
  • Anticipate potential challenges/issues with work interference, schedule difficulties, constructability, staffing, etc.. Proactively develop solutions and implement corrective plans/actions.
  • Manage project costs, schedule and forecast labor, material & equipment on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain written, daily log and progress photos of all activities on the jobsite
  • Always promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
  • Provide leadership in training Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Foreman and Field Crews on XL procedures and construction methods and actively participates in the improvement of XL Construction.
  • Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with all owners, subcontractors, owners’ reps, architects, engineers, suppliers, inspectors, and other employees assigned to the project.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  5 -10+ years of Construction experience in Healthcare OSHPD, HCai projects within the Bay Area.

Sr Marketing Coordinator

Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Marketing Manager and is responsible for managing marketing and pursuit activities. This will include: leading pursuit planning and developing proposals that help us stand out from the competition; assisting with monitoring for and identifying new business opportunities; and helping guide marketing strategies to position XL for future growth. He/she will support the team from our new Oakland office.

Proposal Development:

  • Support the Business Unit leaders and Business Development team with developing creative proposals, presentations, and other business development materials.
  • Lead proposal efforts from start to finish, including but not limited to overseeing a kick-off meeting, storyboarding, managing pursuit team tasks, writing and editing content, and production.
  • Develop qualifications packages, RFQ and RFP responses, interview presentations, and follow-up materials.
  • Help prepare interview teams for client presentations.
  • Maintain marketing library and project information databases.
  • Track and report on marketing performance.

Marketing:

  • Collaborate with Communications Team to identify opportunities for promotion.

Sr Project Engineer

Education Oakland, California

Senior Project Engineers work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to help manage and execute the timely and safe completion of the construction project. They take responsibility for maintaining, reviewing, and distributing documentation related to drawings, specifications, estimates, scopes of work and the change process. A Sr. PE may be part of a team on a large project or may manage a small project with limited PM oversight. A strong familiarity with XL’s systems, processes and technology enable Sr. Project Engineers to be a valuable resource to the team and project. They must be flexible, detail-oriented, team players with the ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate proactively, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute as part of a team in formal presentations for new projects.
  • Lead or assist with instructions to bidders and assembling bid packages; perform takeoff's and estimate aspects of new projects. Perform outreach to trade partners to promote project opportunities and generate interest - increasing bid coverage.
  • Assist in assembly of the Control Estimate and project setup in Vista.
  • Execute aspects of the subcontractor buyout and selection process.
  • Perform project management responsibilities on smaller projects or portions of a larger project, such as: write and administer subcontracts & exhibits; prepare cost forecasts, lead meetings & job walks, help produce monthly billings, Q.C. coordination, etc.
  • Manage the procurement process on the project with limited oversight. Solve challenges related to procurement based on knowledge of project schedule.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead OAC meetings and prepare timely and accurate meeting minutes.
  • Estimate change orders; review and validate pricing for PCC's and EWA's. Evaluate subcontractor change orders for accuracy and fairness. Present change orders to the client with limited oversight.
  • Lead the document control process: Distribute plans, specifications, drawings, permits, etc. to appropriate parties and maintain drawing revision log.
  • Evaluate, prepare, and distribute appropriate RFI’s. Gather, prepare, review, and distribute submittals. Maintain accurate logs/records of the activities associated with these processes and ensure that critical pending items are brought to the forefront.
  • Monitor, measure, inspect and report on work put in place in the field. Perform QC activities for installed materials or systems.
  • Assist with the resolution of challenges in the field.
  • Along with the Superintendent, manage and perform updates to the Project Schedule.
  • Proactively manage the punch-list and close-out process; including warranty, O&M, LEED and as-built documentation.
  • Maintain extensive contact with the client, owner’s representative, design team, subcontractors, and others; develop and maintain positive relationships with the entire project team.
  • Assist with efforts to mentor, train and develop other project staff members.
  • Always promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
  • Know and demonstrate XL Values.
  • Ensure XL's safety policies and procedures are known, in place and practiced.
