Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cost accounting and inventory management for modular manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate labor, material, and overhead allocation.
  • Partner with factory leadership and project teams to evaluate job cost performance and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare and review sales and use tax filings; ensure compliance with multi-state tax regulations.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Viewpoint Vista, Power BI, or Prophix is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & MARKET STRATEGY:
Opportunity Generation & Sales Leadership:

Role Overview:
The Project Executive – Healthcare will lead XL’s Healthcare market segment, managing delivery of multiple construction projects, guiding business development, and nurturing key client and stakeholder relationships. This leader will ensure best‑in‑class project execution and financial performance while championing a high‑performance, safety‑focused team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Market Leadership – Healthcare Focus 
  • Serve as XL’s lead strategist for the Healthcare market segment, driving new pursuits and strengthening key industry relationships.
  • Delegate active participation in healthcare trade associations and forums to raise XL’s profile.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Marketing, and Executive teams to shape pursuit and pricing strategies.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of healthcare regulations, delivery methods, and cost drivers.
Business Development & Preconstruction 
  • Identify and win new healthcare project opportunities using XL’s Middle and End Game pursuit methodologies.
  • Guide the bid process and lead preconstruction efforts to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts with owners and subcontractors to optimize risk and margin.
Project Oversight & Financial Management 
  • Provide senior leadership across project lifecycles—start‑up through turnover—ensuring performance, safety, and quality.
  • Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and profitability measures across portfolio.
  • Conduct regular project health reviews to monitor performance, budget, schedule, and team dynamics.
Team Leadership & Development 
  • Build and mentor high‑performing teams; lead recruitment, development, and retention strategies.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to foster excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Implement best practices—such as Lean, VDC, Sustainability, ECS, and XL Shop—to drive efficiency and innovation.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement 
  • Own enduring client relationships; act as senior escalation and liaison for owners, designers, and partners.
  • Drive outstanding client satisfaction through transparent communication, quick issue resolution, and consistent delivery.
  • Embed and elevate XL’s safety-first culture on every project and across all teams.
 
Qualifications & Competencies
  • 15+ years of construction leadership, with a strong focus on healthcare projects—Sacramento or Northern California experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large/complex and multiple simultaneous projects profitably.
  • Skilled in business development, pursuit leadership, client management, and market positioning.
  • Deep understanding of preconstruction strategy, contract types, risk mitigation, and cost control.
  • Proven track record building and developing successful project teams.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 10, LEED AP, and/or DBIA preferred.
  • Natural ambassador of organizational culture, ethics, and safety excellence.
Compensation Range (CA): $243,000 – $275,000/year: In accordance with California law, this posting includes a specified salary range. The final offer will depend on your qualifications as well as your relevant skills, experience, and licensure. XL may adjust pay based on internal equity, budget, candidate experience, and market conditions.

Sr Project Manager

Sr. Project Managers have direct responsibility for all aspects of a single large, complex project
or for multiple small/mid-size projects. They lead all phases of a project through its life cycle,
including estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, construction, safety, and quality
assurance activities. Sr. Project Managers bring a higher level of problem solving/solution
creation, risk management, communication and technical “know-how” to their team(s) and
projects. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills must accompany their
technical skills. These enable the Sr. Project Manager to effectively train, develop, coach and
supervise team members as well as develop strong working relationships with clients and key
trade partners.
 
Responsibilities:
• Lead new project pursuits, including development and management of proposals,
schedules and cost estimates. Lead Middle and End Game BD activities.
• Provide expertise and leadership in design-build and design-assist relationships and
other alternative project delivery methods.
• Plan and execute the bid process for new projects to ensure depth in coverage and
accuracy, and lead efforts to assess and mitigate risk exposure.
• Demonstrate an understanding of conceptual estimation and unit costs.
• Develop conceptual and detailed estimates throughout preconstruction and construction,
including development, management, and submission of project GMP estimates and
internal project budgets.
• Develop contracts that protect XL from unnecessary risk and enhance
• Lead the subcontractor buy out and selection process including, the development and
execution of subcontract agreements. Demonstrate a mastery of contract terms and the
ability to resolve any subcontract issues without oversight.
• Perform and supervise all aspects of project management on more complex or multiple
projects; including, all estimating, preconstruction activities, procurement, submittals,
change orders, RFIs, budgeting, financial reporting, cost forecasting/management, billing,
schedule adherence, quality control, turnover/close-out, etc. Successfully overcome
challenges and resolve any issues the projects and/or teams presents.
• Ensure project permits, inspections, tests and procurement activities are done well and
don’t lead to schedule challenges.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with project team(s), clients, owner’s
representatives, design team, subcontractors, and others. Manage all OAC activities;
including meetings and all other communication with these groups, to ensure positive,
long-term relationships are maintained.
Ensure the effective use of available resources to increase efficiency and effectiveness
of the team and the project(s); i.e. VDC, Sustainability, Lean practices, Bradley, SPW, XL
Shop, etc.
• Work collaboratively with Superintendent(s) and field management to plan, organize
and direct site activities. Lead efforts to resolve issues or challenges in the field.
• Supervise project staff and take responsibility for their training and development.
• Champion XL culture & policies and procedures and demonstrate the highest level of
ethics and professionalism.
• Actively promote XL’s safety culture and practices. Provide insight and supervision for
the development and maintenance of construction safety policies, procedures, and
practices. Participate in project safety meetings and reinforce program objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years progressive experience strong project background in our core markets of
Education, Science/Technology, Civic and/or Healthcare, including a project portfolio with
key market clients, building types, and varied delivery methods.
• Industry certifications/accreditation, including OSHA 10, LEED AP, and/or DBIA.
• Proficient with computer applications such as MS Project, PowerPoint, and Timberline.
Expert knowledge of Viewpoint.
• Ability to develop a detailed project schedule.
• Solid understanding of the building permit process and of all trades, including MEP.
• Experience leading and maintaining the highest-level in construction safety practices.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to effectively lead team• Strong skill         set as a builder and in project management, with a solid record of success.

Compensation & Pay Transparency (California): 
In accordance with California pay transparency laws, the base salary range for this position is , depending on experience, education, and qualifications.

Risk Management Specialist

Description/Summary: 
Our Risk Management department currently has an opening for a Risk Management Specialist. In this role you will serve a key function, of analyzing, reporting, and proposing solutions from a corporate and project team level perspective as it relates to insurable risk. We are a resolute and enthusiastic team building to improve lives. We are seeking someone with foundational insurance knowledge, who is seeking career growth within construction risk management.
Responsibilities:  
Risk Management: 
  • Collaborate with operations in setup, maintenance of risk processes for construction projects
  • Ensure compliance with XL’s procedures, authorization matrix, and risk programs via periodic project audits
  • Review of project status reporting and documentation, management of projects, to identify and prioritize risk management focus areas
  • Assist operations with the review of construction subcontracts for acceptable terms and conditions
  • Participate in and/or facilitate risk workshops and operational risk reviews to identify key areas of risk, develop management and mitigation strategies
  • Administration and tracking for meetings and claims reporting
  • Support the development of new programs and initiatives, updates of existing programs, and vision planning of future needs
  • Corporate and entity governance management (license and annual state renewals)
  • Code and process expenses and invoices for risk department
  • Risk department document control
Insurance: 
  • Management for all subcontractor insurance compliance
  • Analyze and understand insurable risks and potential risk mitigation opportunities; interact with operational groups to ensure coordination between project activities, exposures, and appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Assist with management of corporate Subcontractor Default Insurance program including coordination with internal teams, external sales discussions, and management of broker and insurer relationships.
  • As needed, periodic insurance reporting and assistance with client insurance requests
  • Process Bond requests as directed
  • Gather renewal information for all insurance coverage, maintenance of all policies and forms
Prequalification:
  • Management and administration of trade prequalification program (maintenance, new vendors, renewals, compliance, reporting) and coordination with Preconstruction Dept.
  • Analyze and provide appropriate prequalification feedback on subcontractor partners
  • Coordination with corporate parent prequalification group
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • College degree preferred or applicable industry experience (3-5 years of experience)
  • One of the following:
  • Insurance acumen as it relates to construction exposure (General Liability, Worker’s Compensation, Professional, Builder’s Risk, Property, and Sub-Contractor Default Insurance)
  • General Contractor trade prequalification experience and working use of prequalification software
  • Risk management experience and background
  • Specialty degree(s) and credentials related to risk management preferred
  • Knowledge with a general contractor of industry practices and regulations which affect insurance, legal, and risk management matters
  • Experience with contracts or legal background is a plus
  • Accounting/Finance project experience is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
In accordance with California pay transparency requirements, the base salary range for this role is $90,000 – $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, market location, internal equity, and business need. This role is also eligible for participation in company bonus programs and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist and support the Director of Safety and Risk Management in executing XLI’s safety policies and procedures with the purpose of preventing accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct daily job site safety inspections, addressing unsafe conditions and work practices.
  • Oversee and support safety program implementation at the project level.
  • Lead or attend weekly site safety meetings and subcontractor pre-task planning sessions.
  • Stay current on safety best practices and maintain certifications in hazardous material remediation, confined space entry, fall protection, electrical safety, and PPE.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to project teams in delivering safe, high-quality construction work.
  • Participate in accident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare safety performance metrics and reports.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Safety and Risk Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Associate degree in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent combination of experience. CSP certification preferred.
  • 7–10 years of field construction experience at the foreman level or above.
  • 3–5 years of direct experience in construction safety.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $81,000 – $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications in accordance with California pay transparency laws.
  • Typical starting compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $130,000.
  • Compensation may also include bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, 401(k), PTO, and wellness programs.
