Reports to: Corporate ControllerSUMMARY:XL Industries is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Assistant Controller to support the organization’s financial leadership and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will oversee accounting operations, support financial reporting, and help drive consistency, accuracy, and compliance across the enterprise.This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both strategic vision and the ability to dive into detailed financial processes, while collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business units and departments.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Accounting Operations & Controls 
  • Oversee core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, WIP, payroll, and fixed assets
  • Manage allocation of shared costs, ensuring accurate cost accounting, timely intercompany billing, and proper departmental support
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and review month-end close across entities, departments, and business units
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to protect company assets and improve reporting integrity
Financial Reporting & Analysis 
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external financial reporting
  • Conduct detailed variance analyses and provide business insights through clear commentary
  • Coordinate preparation of quarterly debt compliance certificates and related calculations
  • Support financial system management and reporting tools including ViewPoint Vista, Power BI, SmartSheets, and Prophix
  • Partner with leadership to support insurance renewals and cost allocations
Audit, Tax & Process Improvement 
  • Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
  • Prepare required documentation and ensure timely responses to audit inquiries
  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvement and automation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen controls
Team Leadership & Business Partnership 
  • Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering professional growth and cross-functional collaboration
  • Serve as a financial partner to business leaders, providing clear insights and strategic guidance
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree or CPA designation strongly preferred
  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in leadership or management
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting; knowledge of IFRS is a plus
  • Required experience in the construction or construction-adjacent industries
  • Solid understanding of construction/project accounting, WIP, and manufacturing cost accounting
  • Proven experience with financial tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Prophix, Hyperion, Power BI, Excel)
  • Ability to manage large volumes of data with attention to detail and timeliness
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:In accordance with California’s pay transparency requirements, the base salary range for this position is $140,000 - 160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities:

Reception:

  • Serve as the first point of contact, delivering a warm, inclusive welcome to all employees, clients, trade partners, and guests. Direct visitors to the appropriate person or department.
  • Manage front desk responsibilities with professionalism, answering calls, directing inquiries, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail and deliveries.
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
  • Assist with frequent meeting and event preparations, including heavy catering, setting up/cleaning up, keeping track of meeting attendance, etc.
  • Create an environment that reflects hospitality, efficiency, and care by keeping the reception, kitchens, and shared spaces clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics including catering, room setup/cleanup, and guest accommodations. Unload large stock orders.
  • Maintains relationships with multiple vendors for the office to keep everything polished and running smoothly. Maintain copiers and make sure copy areas are continuously stocked.
  • Responsible for conference room setup/cleanup for important meetings. Order and pick up lunches.

Facilities Management:

  • Build partnerships with vendors to create preventative maintenance plans to ensure the full function, safety, security, and aesthetic of the property and facilities.
  • Evaluate property and facilities procedures and protocols, make recommendations for improvement, and build a strategy for implementation. Provide oversight to manage implementation of changes and conduct ongoing assessments.
  • Collaborate across XLI on the planning and execution of work when there is a potential for work to be self-performed. Ensure proper notification is provided to staff to inform them of potential disruptions or service outages.
  • Manage and negotiate the acquisition of equipment, goods, and services to ensure a well-maintained, efficient facility and enjoyable work environment. Provide oversight of the distribution and storage of company materials and supplies.
  • Create and administer budgets for supplies, equipment, and contract services. Identify opportunities for cost savings, better efficiencies, and other improvements.
  • Work with inspectors and regulators to ensure the property and facility meet environmental, health, and security standards and comply with regulations.

The starting base salary for this position is $60,000 – $67,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including experience, education, role complexity, and job location. This position may be eligible for bonuses and a full benefits package.

TimberQuest projects combine design excellence, operational efficiency, and environmental stewardship.Role Summary: Design Coordinator at TimberQuest will play a critical role in project delivery, working closely with the design team, BIM modelers and factory to integrate the project design with the TimberQuest product solution.   They directly manage the BIM team (outside firm) for deliverables, ensuring fabrication documents are accurate, complete and on time for production at the TimberQuest Factory.    They will also closely collaborate with the design team for each project, in order to ensure that there is alignment between the permitted design and the fabrication and will play a key role in procuring materials for the factory. Candidates must demonstrate experience in design coordination (Revit/BIM) and construction executionCandidate work place will be primarily in Milpitas but include some remote and some travel to our Oakland or Sacramento office and Stockton Factory. Total Rewards & People Operations Senior Specialist

Milpitas, California
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Total Rewards & People Operations Senior Specialist to join our People team. This critical role serves as a strategic consultant and operational expert across compensation, total rewards, and HR systems/process optimization. You will partner closely with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance, and leadership to ensure our rewards programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business goals—all while driving operational excellence and scalability.This role requires strong analytical capabilities, program and project management expertise, and a passion for building thoughtful, data-driven people programs.Key Responsibilities:              Compensation & Total Rewards
  • Lead the annual and mid-year merit and bonus cycles, including planning, communications, system configuration, execution, and post-cycle analysis.
  • Administer and continuously improve spot bonus, equity, and incentive programs.
  • Conduct benchmarking, market surveys (FMI, Radford, CEA, Moss Adams), and job evaluations to ensure market competitiveness and pay equity.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, People Leaders, and People Operations to advise on offer calibration, salary banding, and job leveling.
  • Evaluate and enhance compensation structures and variable pay programs, supporting both internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Manage programs such as Motus (vehicle reimbursements) and phone stipends.
Benefits & Leave Administration
  • Support and/or lead benefits open enrollment processes, including vendor coordination, system updates, employee communications, and renewals.
  • Oversee leave of absence administration (FMLA, ADA, EDD), including documentation, employee communication, and compliance tracking.
  • Administer COBRA processes and ensure policy compliance.
  • Present benefits and timekeeping/payroll systems (NOVAtime, Paylocity) during new hire orientation.
  • Lead and promote employee wellness initiatives across the organization.
People Operations & Systems Optimization
  • Partner with HRIS and Finance teams to optimize and scale HCM platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Jobvite).
  • Act as a business lead for rewards-related systems configuration, testing, and process documentation.
  • Maintain compensation-related dashboards, metrics, and reporting to drive transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and processes.
Project & Program Management
  • Lead cross-functional HR and total rewards projects from strategy through execution, with a focus on scalability, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Own communication strategies, change management, and stakeholder engagement across initiatives.
  • Conduct post-program reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; CCP or other HR certifications a plus.
  • 4 + years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, or People Operations, ideally in a matrixed or fast-paced environment.
  • Deep knowledge of compensation strategy, job architecture, benchmarking, and survey methodologies.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HCM systems (e.g., Paylocity, Jobvite, SuccessFactors) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • High degree of discretion, integrity, and professionalism with sensitive data.
