Alameda Headquarters Relocation

Exelixis

The Exelixis Headquarters Relocation project included the renovation of three buildings in Alameda. The existing buildings were demolished down to the structure and re-purposed for Exelixis’ needs and standards. The scope included all new mechanical systems and electrical distribution, new roofs on all three buildings, 50,000 s.f. of chemistry, biology, and lab support spaces with 110,000 s.f. of office space, and a 10,000 s.f. warehouse.
A majority of the project duration was built over an operating data center run by a legacy tenant with no un-planned power or utility outages. The schedule was accelerated after the data center tenant vacated to meet the aggressive move in targets.
