Research and Innovation Center

The Ford Research and Innovation Center consisted of two separate 75,000 s.f. cold shell buildings located in Palo Alto. XL Construction partnered with Harley Ellis Deveraux Architects to complete the interior build-out and exterior improvements that support Ford’s goals for connectivity, mobility, and autonomous vehicles.

The project included site work, structural upgrades, complete MEPF fit-up, elevator installation, and a complete interior build-out. The interior build-out consisted of research rooms, conference rooms, private offices, open collaboration areas, three large break areas, two mother rooms, and four restrooms including showers.

The highlight of the Ford Research and Innovation Center is the auditorium which provides Ford a space to showcase their latest innovations. This LEED Silver space includes custom Newmat ceiling system, auditorium-style seating, and a track lighting/dimming system.
