To bring state-of-the-art quality assurance to Bayer Healthcare’s hemophilia A treatments and other future medicines, XL Construction built a new three-story 80,000 s.f. facility on Bayer’s Berkeley campus. Bayer partnered with XL for its life sciences expertise, critical to this world-class testing laboratory where Bayer employees work 24-7 to produce advances for global clients. The building houses Grade D isolation laboratories, lab support, offices, and mechanical spaces designed to meet future production demands. The project required utility tie-ins to the existing Bayer campus infrastructure. The quality control lab, Bayer’s largest capital investment to date on its 42-acre campus, earned a LEED Gold certification.
