XL Construction completed a 225,000 s.f. build-out of a commercial kitchen and food storage warehouse for a confidential high-tech client. A LEED Gold facility, utilizing a photovoltaic solar power system. The facility uses a Grind2Energy™ system which recycles food waste into renewable energy. The 100,000 s.f. warehouse includes palletized storage for dry, refrigerated and frozen foods. XL added a large MEP service yard on an existing truck dock and constructed an emergency power generator yard. XL proactively planned and communicated with the client and design teams during the COVID-19 shut down, which allowed construction to efficiently resume under safety protocols.
